This handmade lino print was created using a traditional relief printmaking method where the artist carves an image into a linoleum block using gouge tools. The raised, uncarved areas are then rolled with printing inks using a brayer, and the inked block is then transferred to paper using pressure.
Each print is a unique, hand-pulled piece. This printing process results in a bold, graphic image with unique textures and slight variations, which are a characteristic part of the lino print aesthetic. After drying, additional hand-made mixed media is applied for a one of a kind unique art piece.
